This ferro rod is for campers, hunters, bushcrafters and preppers who want a fire starter that still works when matches are soaked. The 4-inch, 3/8-inch-thick ferrocerium rod is big enough to throw a real shower of 5,500°F sparks and small enough to live in a pocket or on a pack. The six-edge striker is made from tool-grade HSS steel, hard enough to scrape hot sparks left- or right-handed, and it stays attached to the rod on 5 ft of paracord so it never goes missing. Waterproof and weatherproof, it lights tinder wet or dry, at sea level or on a ridge.
