It is made from borosilicate glass, the kind that handles boiling water and quick changes in temperature, and it can sit on a gas flame to keep tea warm. The gold-tone lid has a strainer collar under it, so slices and leaves stay in the pitcher while you pour.

Care

Let the glass cool before washing and rinse with warm water. Avoid pouring cold water into a hot pot or setting it down on a cold, wet surface straight from the heat. Hand wash for the longest life. Use low to medium flame only, and never heat the pitcher empty.
